Adrian Bull is Head of Stakeholder Relations for the nuclear company Westinghouse UK – with particular focus on the market for new nuclear power stations and the potential for Westinghouse’s reactor, the AP1000. He is involved in dealings with Government, media, trade unions, and other stakeholders, as well as representing the nuclear industry to a wide range of groups. Prior to joining Westinghouse, Adrian worked for BNFL for over 20 years, in a variety of technical and commercial roles – latterly as BNFL’s Head of Energy Policy Studies.

Alastair Scrimgeour

Until recently Alastair was a senior corporate finance partner with over 25 years of corporate finance experience with both public and private sectors.  He is now a specialist adviser to Deloitte on nuclear matters. He is well known by for his work in the nuclear sector and has been regularly used over the past ten years by H.M. Treasury, ShEx, DECC and BIS.

Adrian is the business unit and Programme Director for nuclear new build with AMEC Power and Process Europe. He is responsible for developing and leading a team to deliver specifically at this time, AMEC’s contribution to EDF’s UK EPR project where EDF are to build four reactors including ancillary building at Hinkley Point and Sizewell.

He has spent the majority of his career in multidisciplinary construction and project management, fulfilling both project and general management roles, both internationally and in the UK.

Allan has been involved in financing in the power sector for more than 20 years, initially as an engineer and then in finance sector. During his career he has advised on and financed projects in Asia, EMEA and in sectors ranging from green-field renewables to acquisition of coal fired power portfolios. This experience has also encompassed regulated, partially deregulated and merchant power markets.

The Government has made it clear that they are committed to dealing with the legacy of nuclear waste by geological disposal preceded by safe, secure interim storage.  The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has been charged with implementing a Geological Disposal Facility.  Bruce McKirdy outlines the latest work being carried out and possible timelines for decisions to be made.  He will also consider progress made on geological disposal internationally.

Daniel Grosvenor is a Corporate Finance director in Deloitte and has been working with the nuclear industry for the last ten years. Daniel is currently working with EDF to develop their funded decommissioning programme as part of its nuclear new build programme in the UK.

Frank Lopez, Jr. currently serves as Vice President, Commercial Nuclear Projects for CH2M HILL. He has over 36 years experience in the nuclear industry, in various roles including nuclear engineering design, licensing, safety analysis, and project management. He has managed numerous engineering and licensing efforts around the world including original plant licensing reviews, operating plants, decommissioning, and the latest efforts in new nuclear generation.
